New rowing and yachting poster design ideas crop up on their own time. Your mental notes of various scenes or ideas need to percolate like coffee before they’re ready for development. Your mind whirs in the background, constantly editing and combining thoughts and images. Sometimes you toss out a “perfect” idea in the process of development in favor of a serendipitous image that turns out to be the best direction.
Every designer has their own preferred method. Some are “seekers” and some are “finders.” There is some recent literature that establishes these two different categories of artistic practice. One is not better than the other just different. You’ll find many creative types are loath to discuss these matters as they feel it might make the magic disappear. Henry Moore, the great English sculptor, felt that the answer to any creative problem is in the work itself — not just thinking but doing.
We smell the coffee this morning but it’s not quite ready yet. When it is ready to pour we’ll share the brew with you.
