The art of poster design represents a bit of a paradox. It is graphic design that has a clear mission to communicate directly.  It has an immediacy that could be read as solely of-the-moment. And yet, the fine artist revels in complexity, striving for multiple levels of meaning and visual discovery. We aim to merge the two, hence the name Brush Strokes Fine Art Rowing Posters.

Our goal is to give you, the viewer, a visceral sense of the sport of rowing — the aspect of being on and close to the water, the competition, the excitement and the sense of peace, the constant repetition and the refinement of technique. Whether we always achieve that or fall short is in the eyes of the beholder…do let us know what you think.
