“Recovery On Water” R.O.W. is an organization of breast cancer survivors who row. R.O.W., based in Chicago, is a model for how the physical and mental challenges of rowing can inspire survivors to literally pull together rather than go it alone.
Though members sometimes address their own health concerns they mainly focus on the rowing that draws them together and strengthens their resolve to embrace life.
The quote on this new Brush Strokes poster, now available in our online Gallery and Store, comes directly from a R.O.W. member’s essay on what rowing means to her.
