“Up River”

On the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, you can row three miles up river before you encounter a confluence of soaring bridges and highways.

“Up River” is the latest addition to our expanding Gallery of dynamic rowing images available to you as affordable fine art. “Up River” depicts the view under those bridges and highways and was developed from one of our oil paintings on a wood panel.

In dry summer months you could risk damage to your boat by proceeding further. In the spring, with generally higher water levels, you can proceed with caution as there may still be rocks projecting up. However, you will be rewarded with new sights as you approach Manayunk.
